Encircled by a ring of thirteen stars as a nod to the original thirteen colonies, Longacre’s captivating representation has led to the coin being commonly called the “Liberty Head” or “Coronet” Double Eagle.

The reverse of the $20 Liberty Double Eagle Gold Coin VF features the Great Seal of the United States. This emblematic design showcases a bald eagle with a shield, an olive branch, and arrows.
