Product Description

The $20 Liberty Double Eagle Gold Coin XF is now offered in XF (Extremely Fine) condition. Initially issued in 1850, this Liberty Gold Double Eagle holds the distinction of being the first coin of its denomination ever minted, and it was also the most valuable currency piece during its era.

Meticulously struck with .9675 troy oz of 90.0% pure gold, this coin is built to last! Beyond its intrinsic value, the $20 Liberty Double Eagle has garnered significant attention from collectors as one of the few coins produced before the discontinuation of gold currency in the United States.

Key Features:

  • .9675 Troy ounce of pure gold.
  • .900 fine gold purity
  • $20 face value issued by the US Mint
  • Coin years are common dates.
  • XF (Extremely Fine) condition
  • Individual coins ship in separate plastic sleeves

John B. Longacre designed the $20 Liberty Gold Double Eagle, which features his iconic Crowned Liberty portrait. The front of the coin displays Lady Liberty wearing an inscribed tiara, surrounded by a series of stars representing the original 13 colonies. Longacre drew inspiration from the royal effigies seen on ancient Greco-Roman currency for this masterpiece.

On the reverse side, the coin proudly displays the Great Seal of the United States. This emblem shows Americas symbol of freedom, a spread-winged eagle holding a shield, and clutching an olive branch, and a bundle of arrows. Over the years, three versions of this design were created: Please note that the specific version in this offering is by dealers choice. We encourage you to call us if there is a specific coin you are looking for.

What Our Customers Are Saying

“Professional, helpful and no stress approach made my purchase very simple. Fast shipping, low prices and great follow up. The coins were better than expected. I would recommend MBE to anyone looking to purchase precious metals. You will not find a more honest and sincerely company out there.”
“I recently purchased silver bars from MBE and the exchange went wonderfully. The staff was polite and helpful, the product was exactly what I expected, and I had it in my hands in just a few days after ordering. I would definitely buy from MBE again.”
“I was very pleased with my dealings with Midwest Bullion Exchange. I did not feel rushed on the phone with the representative and felt free to ask any questions. My father who has dealt with a lot of other companies that deal in precious metals was also impressed with this business.”
